What is Generative AI?

Generative AI is a branch of artificial intelligence that enables machines to create new content—such as text, images, audio, or code—based on patterns learned from vast datasets.

Unlike traditional AI models that classify or analyze existing data, generative AI models produce original outputs that mimic human-created content.

These models are trained on large amounts of data and use advanced techniques like generative adversarial networks (GANs), variational autoencoders (VAEs), and large language models (LLMs) such as GPT to generate realistic, coherent, and contextually relevant outputs.

Generative AI is transforming industries—from marketing and design to customer service and software development—by enabling faster creation of personalized experiences, improving operational efficiency, and scaling content production. However, it also raises ethical concerns around intellectual property, misinformation, and data privacy.

At Engageware, we explore the responsible use of generative AI to enhance customer experiences across digital touchpoints—see how generative tools can support knowledge delivery and virtual assistant performance at scale.
